Do You Rest and Sleep Enough?

This is a from a previous post. Because I enjoy living the life I write about, today I am taking a break to get the sleep I need.

I am always struggling with not getting enough rest. I often find myself staying up late to finish what I couldn't during the day. Although I am productive, I wake up tired and sluggish in the morning. I prefer waking up energized and ready for my day.

Here is my plan.

1. Acknowledge that there are only 24 hours in a day. I always have what seems like a thousand items on my to do list and normally accomplish most of it. I get into a cycle of getting a lot done, but wanting to get even more done.

2. Relish in accomplishments. I am learning to be content with what I have accomplished instead of thinking of everything I haven't done.

3. Learn to accept your limitations. I am doing the best I can under my circumstances.

4. Take pressure off. I am starting with priority items and doing what I can. I am learning to accept that I can't do everything all of the time.

5. Realize that life is short and enjoy it as much as possible. Regardless of how much I can get done by staying up late, I have more to gain by getting the sleep I need.

6. Develop a plan and stick to it. I get side tracked by trying to do everything at a once. I find myself not reviewing my list of stuff to do which means being productive but not as efficient as I could be.
